Chief Executive Officer (Maternity Leave)
I started at Public Outreach in June 2014 to grow the Telemarketing arm of the organisation and in February 2017 I had the privilege of becoming the Managing Director of this passionate and driven workforce. I come from 6 years at another Telemarketing agency working both as an Account Director and Operations Manager and experience working for a charity as their Individual Giving Manager. I love being part of a sector and an organisation that supports causes I believe in. One of the biggest joys for me, is getting to meet so many amazing young people and create "fundraisers for life" so brilliant, hard working and passionate people stay working in a sector that changes the world.
Fun fact: In a world where calories did not exist I would like to eat cheese supreme Doritos with everything!
National Fundraising Manager
I began my fundraising career in 2007 for Dialogue Direct in the United Kingdom where I promptly fell in love with the culture and environment that fundraising fosters. From there I started fundraising for Greenpeace Africa as a campaign manager and later a consultant. During this period I was also completing my masters in Psychology. Once qualified, I made my way to Australia, finally finding my home at Public Outreach who embody all (and more) that I love about fundraising! All in all I have been in the fundraising sector for over 10 years and plan to spend substantially more with PO.
Fun fact: I love Ultimate Frisbee!
National Call Centre Manager
I arrived in Melbourne at the beginning of July 2015 and started at Public Outreach as a fundraiser the same week. I instantly fell in love with the company, the organisations we fundraise for and the amazing people I get to work with. Knowing that every day we're fighting to change the world for the better has got me hooked. Public Outreach has given me so many opportunities to grow as a person, learn more than I ever have and has introduced me to people I will call friends for life. I'm exited to see where the future takes us!
Fun fact: I once stole lunch from Brian May (accidentally)!
Deputy National Fundraising Manager
After travelling and seeing the variety of stresses and strains in this world, I decided to step back from my catering career and apply myself as a Fundraiser. I knew that mobilising charities would have a far greater impact than I alone ever could. I’ve been on the streets, phones and shopping centres all over the UK inspiring donors and building fundraising campaigns alongside many incredible people. After eight years of experience I have now been welcomed to Australia as Grant's second in command with Public Outreach, who embody the morals and ethics I work under. “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together”.
Fun fact: I can chirp like a cricket!
New Zealand F2F Program Manager
My Public Outreach story started in September of 2013 on the streets of Adelaide! After 6 months I was given the opportunity to become the Adelaide Fundraising Manager, which I happily accepted. Since then I have moved to New Zealand to be the first Program Manager for PONZ! Everyday I wake up knowing that becoming a part of the PO family was one of my greatest decisions!
Fun fact: I love turtles!
Perth Fundraising Manager
I fell into fundraising like most fresh faces, not knowing anything at all about what I was getting myself into, but from day one I took to the job like a duck to water. I immediately fell in love with the culture, freedom and lifestyle that fundraising brings. Still to this day some of my closest friends are people I met at my first fundraising company, and I've only continued to meet more incredible people throughout my career. I’ve fundraised in the UK, Australia and New Zealand, and my greatest achievement so far is Fundraiser Of The Year! I’ve found my calling here at PO: a place which matches my passion, ethics and dedication to make a difference in the world we live in today.
Fun fact: I've met the Queen, twice!
Sydney Fundraising Manager
Heyo! My name is Madeline and I grew up in a small town near Byron Bay. My time at Public Outreach has definitely been the most memorable and life-changing chapter in my life so far! I absolutely love being able to genuinely connect with like minded and passionate people so that we can come together and change the world. My favourite thing about fundraising is being able to allow people to truly realise the potential they have to make a massive and tangible difference.
Fun fact: I am mortally terrified of cane toads, and I am all for pineapple on pizza!
Sydney Campaign Manager
I started at Public Outreach in February of 2018 as one of the Sydney Fundraising Managers. I started my face-to-face fundraising career a few years back in Auckland, New Zealand where I started by knocking doors. Since then I have travelled all over the place fundraising, managing and coaching in Australia, the U.S.A and the Philippines! I believe this is the greatest industry in the world and see myself continuing to raise money for NGOs for the rest of my working life.
Fun fact: I like to travel all over the east coast surfing!
Auckland Campaign Manager
I began my Public Outreach journey in 2017 as a fundraiser. Being a marketing enthusiast, I'm an extroverted character who loves networking and socialising! A batsman by talent and a campaign manager by profession defines me completely. After almost 8 years of sales and marketing experience, I found my forte in fundraising. It makes me feel extremely proud to raise money for the needy!
Fun fact: I am quite witty and have a great comedic timing!
Head of Business Services - Public Outreach Australia
Head of Operations - Public Outreach New Zealand
I’ve come to know Public Outreach as part of my home and my family. I started in November 2010 at what was supposed to be a casual job but as time progressed, I began to realise that it was much more than that. To me, Public Outreach will always be the place where I have been offered opportunities that I may not have been given elsewhere especially in such a short amount of time. I have been given the opportunity to manage a multitude of departments, projects and of course, been able to travel around Australia and Canada. It has not only presented me with the opportunity to develop as a professional but has also allowed me to work with some of the most remarkable people, as well as with organisations that come together to make a difference. I come to work each day knowing that we are all valued team members and that we are a part of the bigger picture - I can safely say that Public Outreach is one of a kind.
Fun fact: I am a Supernatural fan girl!
Meraya Gomez, CPA
I joined Public Outreach in December 2011 and yet I am continuously being faced with new challenges which keeps my job interesting and ensures I am always developing. Not only has Public Outreach given me a work life balance but also has given me the opportunity to view the world from a new perspective. I meet and work with some truly amazing people. It gives me great joy at the end of the day to be working together with these amazing people to make the world a better place.
Fun fact: I love instant coffee - I will always choose instant coffee over the world’s greatest barista made coffee!
Head of Human Resources
I began my career at Public Outreach in March 2013 as a fundraiser in Perth. I have since lived all over Australia as a Fundraising Manager before taking on the Recruitment Manager role. Now I run the Human Resources department! I love working for Public Outreach because of our focus on impeccable ethics, fantastic company culture, and personal growth opportunities. My favourite thing about running the HR department is that I'm responsible for not only attracting amazing fundraising talent from all over the country, but also offering people amazing growth opportunities in the Not-for-Profit sector!
Fun fact: I am fluently trilingual and absolutely mad about gardening!
Head of Client Services
I started at Public Outreach in March 2015 as Sydney's Administrator. I since became the National Coordinator of the Fundraising Support & Permits departments. In 2016 I was offered the role of Client Services Account Manager which was an absolute dream come true! I am incredibly grateful for the countless opportunities that Public Outreach has given me which have allowed me to grow professionally. I love working in a place that allows me to use my tertiary background in International Relations, Anthropology and Development in a practical, passionate and ethical way!
Fun fact: I am secretly obsessed with mahraganat music, also known as "electro shaabi", which is essentially Egyptian wedding rave!
National Administrative Services Manager
I started at Public Outreach after finishing university as a temporary Data Entry officer. It was only supposed to be a few months work whilst I figured out where my degree would take me. Fast forward four years and I'm now the National Administrative Services Manager. There is really no place like Public Outreach to work - I hear the word 'culture' bandied around often, but the work culture here is second to none, not to mention the sheer dedication I've seen to the company and our charities. My work colleagues have become some of my closest friends and I couldn't imagine my life without them!
Fun fact: My go-to background noise movie is any of the Lord Of The Rings trilogy. So much so that I can sit there and quote it almost verbatim.
Data and Resource Manager (POP)
I started at PO on Halloween 2013 (ooohhh spooky!) as a phone fundraiser, since then I have been involved in many different departments of PO. Everything from donor care to administration, ending as the Data and Resource Manager! Three and a half years later and I am in a job I love at a company that has amazing values and people! Public Outreach has given me many opportunities that I would not have gained anywhere else and they've helped me decide my career. I cannot imagine working anywhere but here: the friends I have made here I know are going to be friends for life!
Fun Fact: My life motto is 'chin up princess or the crown slips'.
Data and Resource Manager (F2F)
I began my career at Public Outreach in June 2013 as Melbourne's Fundraising Support Officer, under the impression that the job would be temporary until I decided to go back to uni. In March 2014 I was given the opportunity to move into the wonderful world of data, and from there I've worked my way up to Data and Resource Manager. I am immensely grateful for the education and opportunities provided to me by Public Outreach, as well as being in an office dominated by amazing and inspiring women!
Fun fact: When I was a kid I featured in a Clark Rubber ad and I have performed as a dancer in the Moomba Parade multiple times!
Client Services Account Manager
I've had the pleasure on working with humanitarian and environmental non-profits since moving to Japan in 2012. Having spent years working on fundraising and awareness campaigns since, I now have the distinct honour of working for multiple campaigns at once at Public Outreach here in Australia. Being able to work with a number of charities alongside equally passionate colleagues makes every day here a great one. As Client Services Account Manager, it's a privilege to split my time between fantastic charities and the superb people here who make great things happen for them.
Fun fact: I had a competition with some gentlemen at the top of Mount Fuji for who could handle the cold without a top on, in below-zero temperatures, the longest. They won when they took things up a notch by wearing only swimming briefs, flippers and a snorkel - on a mountain peak. I have no idea why they had snorkels. I still regret not bringing my roller blades and a crash helmet to one-up them!
